Description : In the late sixties, the Rootes group planned a new cool luxury car, and so did the french Simca. Chrysler owned them by then, so they were told to colaborate to save money. the result was the british design, with french engines. and american geaboxes. and spanish parts too.
To save even more money, its styling was \'de sexed\' in the belief the modern car buyer wanted performance, not looks.
the cars sold well, but were dogged with trouble. to make them fast and economical, they were made with ultra light bodies, leading to them rusting away before thier time.
despite this the cheap cost, and luxury ride made the car popular in spain as taxis, and in 75 the prodution line moved out there.
now VERY rare, this car is one of only five left running in the uk.
