  • Description : In 1972, the rootes group in the uk, made a deal to supply hillman hunters to iran as \'CKD\' kits.. (this meant kits of parts were sent out, and assambled by local workers) The project was an overwhelming success, as the tough little car was perfect for iranian roads. In 1979 when rootes ended UK production, the Iranians bought the entire production line, and moved it to iran. amazingly, the car had such a dedicated following, it remained in production till 2005! (not bad for a 1966 design....) in the end, the iranian government called the car a \'menace\' to iran\'s modernisation! this example is a RHD uk ex rootes press car, with only 7000 miles on the clock!! supplied with both uk and iranian plates.
